Masai Mara is the most beautiful wild reserve in Kenya. On the other side of the border with Tanzania begins Serengeti national park. Masai Mara is the place where you can see a pair of ostriches, slosh through the dry grass of the savanna, or gazelle, trying to give birth. The reserve is home and the "big five": elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard. You can watch: baboon, antelope, foxes, jackals and cheetahs. The rivers are filled with hippos and crocodiles.

Even if they do "Discovery Channel" three-dimensional, you will not feel the same.
Masai Mara is 270 kilometers from the capital of Kenya.
From Nairobi you must drive 4-5 hours on good roads. Then you must follow a long dirt road on which you must pass anyway. This has and a it's possitive sides-you will pass many Masai Mara tribe villages.

You can see Masai women carring their babies in the back, grazing his cows. Inside the Savannah are their villages  called inkangi. It is 10-20 tents or huts, raised by branches and plastered with dung. There is also special  fence made of branches which protect the village against  lions and other wild animals .
The best is to go to Masai Mara between July and October. This is the time when the antelopes migrating .Golden time for the diet of the crocodiles. They "freeze" in the rivers, only their back is shown above the surface. They stand still and act like they are made of rocks . Once the antelopes get in the water and didn't recognized the illusion, this is the last error they are making. Dozens of tourists watch for hours, uploaded on jeeps, waiting for this moment with camera in hand.
Territory of the Maasai Mara is about 1510 sq. km.
However, wildlife transfers these formal borders. You can see herds of livestock among giraffes. There is  established  symbiosis between humans and wildlife.
But the biggest attraction remains seasonal "march" of Gnutella. Each year, far south in Serengeti, the antelopes are rising heads, smell the air and on command, begin their long journey to the Masai Mara. After eat up all the Serengeti grasslands, huge numbers of wildebeest  and zebras enter in the Masai Mara . The juicy grassland, soaked by heavy rains falling in April and May of  attract them It is estimated that more than half a million Gnu moved to Masai Mara.
Gnu herds attract predators who prowl at any price - hyenas, lions.Thousands of lame, lazy or sick antelopes never reach there, where they go.When antelopes eat all the grass of  Masai Mara and the rain begin to fall down again in Serengeti they start the journey backwards to the plains of Tanzania and Ngoro - ngoro.
